Good Old Days is the largest music and arts festival on the Monterey Peninsula. This year marks the 50th Annual Good Old Days. This milestone year has driven the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce to create a promotional campaign that we hope to be legendary: TEAM TREE PG.
This progressive campaign is yet another way that the City of Pacific Grove is handling the issue of Global Warming.

Stage #1

This year Good Old Days falls on Earth Day, April 21 -22, 2007. The Chamber plans to create a Carbon Emissions Report for Sunday, April 22nd. This report will calculate all the carbon dioxide that our event produces through:

The Carbon Emissions Report will then reflect how many trees need to be planted in order to offset our CO2 emissions.

Stage #2

The City of Pacific Grove will then purchase the trees and form a GPS grid of the city that will show where trees need to be planted and create a follow up plan to ensure these trees grow to maturity.

In addition to the City’s planting of trees, Sustainable PG will hand out free trees during our two day event. This will coincide with Sustainable PG’s Earth Day Demonstration in Jewell Park.
