Learn how to save money and the environment by reducing, collecting and re-using water from your home.

This first link covers the whole topic of water recovery in a very useful fashion, but so broadly that it needs to be presented separately from the breakdown done below. Check it out for yourself or just continue on down for each individual topic.



Below, each topic is presented separately in some easy steps showing you how you can take to save water in the home and garden.

1. Reduce the amount of water you use in your house

• Dont leave a facet running when you aren’t using the water
• Use less water in your showers
• Only run your dishwasher when it is full
• Group clothes, as much as possible, when using the clothes washer
      Conserve more

2. Reduce the amount of water you use outside

• Replant using plants that are more drought tolerant
• Water only when necesary
• Use collected water ( number 3 below) to water your yard

3. Collect water for outside irrigation:

• Rain gutters
• Spring box
• Sump pumping water from under your house
      Collect Water

4. Re-use water from inside, for outside irrigation, as:

• Washing machines
• Showers (with permit)
• Baths (with permit)
• Bathroom sinks (with permit)

( Using mulch basins to purify water)
      Using Greywater

BENEFITS OF THE ABOVE MEASURES ARE:

• Conserves drinking water supplies and reduces our impact on the environment
• Saves money and heightens awareness of the precious nature of all water
• Collecting and re-using water provides a drought proof supply of irrigation water
